I had no difficulty asking Allison to officiate our father’s funeral. At such a difficult and disorienting time, there she was – the perfect, sensitive support and guide. Dad meant so much to all our family, who travelled from the south of England, America, France and Australia to Norfolk to say our farewells, and Allison made that as easy as possible for us.

She created a wonderful eulogy and a seamless service that enabled us to relax and focus on why we were there. She skilfully guided our ideas, planning and individual contributions, so that distance didn’t matter. Each of us, his four children and many of his crandchildren experienced a moving and meaningful service that felt just right for him, and for us. In its apparent simplicity, we were all part of a rich and engaging service, that Allison crafted so beautifully for us.

I have no hesitation in recommending Allison as a kind and compassionate celebrant for any funeral service. Thank you so much Allison.

Allison’s gift was her ability to convey the love and affection we felt for a great friend and to enable those who attended his funeral service to relive their time with him through stories and personal memories, including laughter and a few tears, as we said our goodbyes.

Preparing and honing the script for a eulogy on such an occasion is less difficult when someone as intuitive and empathetic as Allison is at the helm to provide and present it. During the funeral service these qualities – linking and introducing our own contributions with encouragement and words of appreciation – allowed those of us recalling a life in story, verse, music and prayer to give of our best in reflecting our memories of one for whom the love shone through.

From the moment I made contact with her, Allison was always accessible both online or by phone and she organised the whole event with professionalism and enormous empathy, attributes which were commented on by many of those who attended.

As we were leaving she presented me with a beautifully boxed script of the service – a thanksgiving for the life of my best friend.

Allison carefully and thoroughly aided me in selecting the information to include in her non religious funeral for my dear wife which included our favourite music and poetry.

She quickly produced and emailed a draft and then emailed a revised draft before printing the programme of the service.

She was at the entrance when the cortège arrived, asked if we wanted the curtains open or closed at the end, and then led us all behind the coffin into the seating area where she delivered her speech in a clear calm voice. She also included a moment for the mourners to say a silent prayer if they wanted to.

She was also at the exit as we left to say goodbye and asked if we were feeling ok.

To sum up, Allison is a very caring and kind person who greatly helped us to deal with our grief at the passing of someone who was greatly loved by all who met her.
